Cardiovascular Technologist

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sonographer to carry out ultrasound examination in Radiology Department which is trained by the residence  Radiologist.
  • To perform simple ultrasound examination with acknowledgement of radiologist.
  • To produce optimum diagnostic quality images  for easy interpretation by radiologist.
  • To organize the work systematically so as to maximize the use of the room and staff as well as to reduce patient waiting time to undergo ultrasound procedure.
  • Explain and ensure the nature of the patient with regards to the ultrasound procedure.
  • To perform patient identifation process to ensure correct patient is being examined.
  • To ensure correct procedures is being done to the right patient.
  • Assess patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate ultrasound probes and  techniques.
  • Position patient safely for examination and if necessary, adapt standard techniques, depends on medical conditions associated with disability ,illness or trauma.
  • To record imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately.
  • To observe protocols to ensure compliance with the data protection act and patient confidentiality.
  • To communicate with Radiologist about the examination, findings, history and patient condition after examination to provide the best diagnosis to the patient.
  • To ensure the equipment is regularly checked for malfunction and any faulty are reported.
  • To keep maintain the cleanliness and the tidiness of the ultrasound room as well as all the accessories in the room .
  • To obtain patients consent for special procedures.
  • To assist the radiologist in complex ultrasound procedure required.
  • To prepare and clean up the trolley and other instruments required for Interventional Radiology procedure related to ultrasound machine before and after procedure.
  • To keep all the probes clean and to be arranged in a proper place with good handling procedure.
  • To ensure machines is stored at its place after every procedure done.
  • To perform on-calls after office hours, weekend  and any particular time when required.
  • Sonographer to key in charges according to procedure being perform
  • To upgrade knowledge in latest procedures , equipments and software by attending conference and seminar.

    Pharmacy Assistant

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Practices within the expressed limits of established policies and procedures, securing approval from the Head of Pharmacy for any deviations from the policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the provision of products with optimum quality by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quality assurance testing (if required).
  • Reviews prescription orders and ensures that medications prescribed are safe and appropriate for intended use. This includes potential drug side effects, harmful interactions with other drugs and the suitability of treatments for patient with particular health conditions.
  • Uses knowledge to advise patients about the safe and appropriate use of medicines they have been prescribed with. Provides counselling on medication/medical device use to patient e.g. method of administration/use, effects, dosage regimen, particularly those who require complex drug therapy as well as provides bedside dispensing and counselling.
  • Assists the pharmacist in preparing, labelling, checking and dispensing medications for patients in accordance with physician’s prescription.
  • Liaises with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of safe and effective drug treatment.
  • Contacts physicians to clarify any discrepancies or issues that appear in the prescription.
  • Responds to medication-related queries from within the hospital, other hospitals and the general public.
  • Ensures that medicinal products are stored and transported appropriately accordingly to the manufacturer’s recommendations to ensure freshness and potency.
  • Ensures the medications reach the patient in the correct form and dose.
  • Strictly maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Complies with and ensures that those directly supervised comply with department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Pharmacy Department meetings, Pharmacy & Therapeutic Clinical Meeting, other department or hospital committee meetings and quality improvement activities. Monitors consumption of stocks in the pharmacy, wards and units and takes appropriate measures to ensure cost efficient use of stocks and minimize wastage.
  • Assists in internal pharmacy stock indent and ward indent.
  • Compounding of extemporaneous medicines and lotion and pre-packing of medicines.
  • Verification of EMR to ensure that medications prescribed are safe and appropriate for intended use.
  • Participates in training as required by management (internal and external pharmacy related CPD programs).
  • Undertakes other relevant tasks as may be directed by the Head of Pharmacy from time to time.

  • Has sound knowledge of the parts and workings of the ventilator. Able to set up ventilator ready for use.
  • Has sound knowledge of various GA and emergency drugs, intravenous fluids and where they are stored. Records and orders controlled durgs.
  • Assist Anaesthetist in induction and extubation of patient taking necessary precautions to ensure patient’s safety.
  • Observes and monitors patient under anaesthesia.
  • Ensure safe and quality care is being administered to patient during anaesthesia.
